Low-Points in Life Never Last

Where are you at this point in your life? Are you riding high or just hanging in there? Maybe you are even at the lowest point of your life. If you are, don’t worry, this WILL NOT last. Pure Recovery California wants you to know that no matter how hard life seems at the moment, the dawn is coming. Sometimes life is like a dark tunnel and you don’t know where you are going, but as long as you keep moving, you will find the light and a better place. We want everyone to know that there is nothing wrong with feeling upset and broken in life. Sometimes you are thrown a curve ball that shatters your world. What can you do when this happens? We want you to know exactly what to do and to never forget that you will be alright.

Time Doesn’t Stand Still

Time has a funny way of moving forward no matter what has happened. You could be the lowest you have ever been and the clock just keeps ticking. Maybe you are broken over a failed relationship or struggling with the death of a loved one. Take your time to let yourself grieve or express your feelings knowing that the world is still spinning. Your world may have been destroyed in a radical way but it will heal. Time heals all wounds is an old yet very true cliche. You can take time to heal and gather yourself. There is no shame in taking a step back to breathe and regroup, sometimes that’s all you can do. Time will help comfort you before you know it this low-point will all be ancient history. Use the gift of the present to help yourself do better and prepare to go forward.

Other People have Made it Through, So can You

Every situation is unique and no one’s life story is exactly the same as someone else’s. Just know that people have been at the same low-point you are and made it through. If they can survive it, so can you. Chances are you know who Dwayne Johnson is. You can hardly see an interview or movie without his huge smile and upbeat attitude. But did you know before his big break he was at this lowest point? He described this time as the worst part of his life, saying “I reached a point where I didn’t want to do anything or go anywhere. I was crying constantly.” Eventually, he got the help he needed and began moving forward. If the Rock can get through his worst moment in life, so can you. Know that if other people can do it, so are you.

It’s Okay to Not Be Okay

There is nothing wrong with feeling bad about a turn in your life or a situation you ended up. This is a perfectly normal human response. Maybe you are having problems with the love of your life or lost your job, both occurrences that can lead to a low-point. It’s okay to be upset about these things in life. If you feel bad, you should experience those emotions. Don’t worry about what other people are saying or aren’t in some cases, just allow yourself to feel. If you feel like you need to cry, cry. If you feel like you need to vent by going to the gym or through a creative outlet, do it! Don’t feel ashamed or embarrassed of your negative feelings, that’s a normal response and something that will help you get better and past a low-point.

Don’t be afraid to Open Up

The old saying goes, “You will feel better getting it off your chest.” and nothing could be truer. Sometimes you need to open up about what is bothering and talk about where you are. One of the most common problems facing America is the lack of ability to talk about our feelings. In fact, the millennial generation is opening up less to each other than previous generations. Dwayne Johnson has said, “Took me a long time to realize it but the key is to not be afraid to open up.” Holding in emotions can also negatively impact your health. If you are keeping your emotions bottled up you are more at risk of having a heart attack, will be more likely to feel exhausted, and have less energy. Open up to someone whether it’s a friend, family member, or a professional. Letting it all out is the first step on the path to getting better and out of a low-point.

No matter how low your life may sink, it will get better. You can always turn your direction around and get back to a happy fulfilling life. Don’t be afraid to open up, know that time will keep moving and that other people have been in the same place as you will help get through it. Never feel bad about having negative emotions, it’s okay not to be okay. If you or a loved is suffering from a low-point with they can’t handle, contact us right away.
